DynaGlide Throw Line

Location
Michigan
Has anyone used this line? I have been using the Samson Zing-it for a long time (and like it a lot) but thought I might try something different - and DynaGlide looked kinda cool. Any comments on the DynaGlide would be welcome -

thanks,

MK,

I have a few lengths of the 1.8mm, one in hi-vis green and one in orange (thanks to Bill Shakespeare from New England Ropes).

I like the colors, it makes it easier to see those high shots. The color fades pretty quickly though.

The line softens a bit with use and there is an increase in friction because of it. You may have to use a heavier bag.

Bill had said that they were trying to deal with the above issues, but I have not heard if they have done it yet.

TMW -

Thanks for the info. Does it get as softer than Zing-it? It takes a while for the Zing stuff to soften - I think I'll give it a try.

peace,

MK,

It softened up pretty quickly, although I was using it in the rain on the first day. I still use it.

It seems like Dynaglide is NER's Endurabraid. A spectra/dyneema single braid, I think. It's not woven very tightly- for strength. But maybe not the best attributes for a throwline, where the most important thing would be smoothness.

I've only used it brand new and it seemed very nice.

Ive had the same one since tci and i love it. I used to use the zing it as well and today i used a friends and remembered why i switched. The zing it is so much rougher on the hands than the dynaglide. One draw back to the dynaglide is that since it is a bit larger and therefore heavier you have to throw at least a twelve with it. Anything less and it probably wont come down for you. My buddy tried it and didnt like throwing the heavier bag so he went back to the zing it. I dont mind the weight at all so i love mine. To each their own.
cheers tex

I had a yale cordage throwline a while ago that was really great. It had a very firm, almost square cross section and was very strong. It also didn't get limp even after a lot of use. I'm not sure if yale still makes it tho, I couldn't find it on their website and I know my local store doesn't have any right now.

It was the best line I've ever used tho.
