I've started to look seriously into buying a used bucket with a forestry package and am wondering from those of you that have went the used route what engine type you went with (gas or diesel). I'm wanting an under CDL truck so that pretty much puts me with either a retired big orange bucket with a gas engine and the pony motor for the hydros or paying premium for the hard to find diesel motor under that magical 26,001 lbs. Also if anyone has bought on of the old Asplunda units what has been you luck with em.

I have a 98 ASPLUNDH forestry truck thats been great the last 2 years.. If money permits a diesel is nice but the 366 gasser does the job just fine,just a but a bit slower.. If you don't intend to pull a big chipper with it, it will run 60-65 all day long.
