Demoing a new slic pin RW and getting some air time

Nice custom tether ! Have you experimented with leaving the clevis hanging out and tending off that directly ?

Ps i always love watching that left foot lock method, it never gets old

Tight space to fit even an accessory biner on the clevis. It needs to be somewhat covered by shrink tubing to keep the tether eyes tight and lined up with the slic pin openings in the clevis.

Hey moss what helmet cam are you using? The audio was very crisp and clear. Also, how do you keep your camera's battery from dying when you are climbing in the cold like that? My small action cams all die very fast if the temp is below freezing which makes filming winter climbs terribly time consuming (always rewarming them in my jacket).

Also, I like your minimalist approach to foot locking with a foot ascender. How much slower is it than a ropewalking system? How much faster is it than a RAD setup?

Thanks for the vid moss!!!

Thanks Fluffy, glad you enjoyed it! I have a Contour Roam2. It kind of pisses me off half the time, it creates "write" problems randomly and totally seizes up. It is effected by the cold, I've packed it into one of my harness zippered bags with handwarmers to solve the battery problem in cold weather. It has a very low profile which I like a lot.

My foot ascender/footlock technique is quite a bit quicker than a RADS. It is a little less efficient than using a knee ascender setup, like a Saka or Hass. I can't go fast enough to make a difference, it's as fast as you want to push it. What I love about it is that when I stand up on it I have a solid platform for both feet side-by-side with strong natural ankle, knee, and hip alignment. For example today I was working in very wet conditions, my gloves were not gripping the rope very well. The solid foot platform allowed me to keep going and rely less on my hand grip.

I use Adobe Premiere Elements to edit my video, it gives me a lot of control which means I'm getting the best video and sound quality possible for the camera I'm using. Many video editors have output presets that crush output quality if you don't pay attention to the settings, if they offer any decent access to output settings.

Thanks moss. Handwarmers in a camera bag is genius!
