Dementia Onset Customers

I have a client who knows that she has dementia. She asked me to look at a pine that she was concerned might hit her house. I took a look at it and told her to her face that the pine looked fine and was leaning in a different direction from her house. Got a call later on from her wondering why the pine was still there.
Might be a good idea to put it in writing for her, I know it's a can of worms.

I think I've got two more 20+ year customers in their 80's with dementia onset. Irrational behaviour and the blank face response to explanations or questions. sigh. One just launched into a frenzy of landscaping including lion tailing a 60+ year old majestic spreading oak, against my advice, that I've babied all these years. I refused so they got the guy who lion tailed the neighbour's tree. Another key sign is factually incorrect memory of events.

Another 3rd guy, 10 years known, said his neighbour was in the hospital for 4 or 5 years - though it was actually 6 months.

You can't reason with these folks and whether communication even gets through is in question.

disheartening.
