Has anyone experimented with using a "shock absorber" as a part of their bridge on their saddle? I know the ART rope guide has one built in to the cambium saver.

In one of my early Unicender lanyards I used a Yates Screamer. After talking with Paolo and doing some research I realized that it was too redundant. By using a proper rope with some stretch designed into it I have the shock absorbler built in. There is so little stretch in any of the ropes that I use I never notice it for ascent on SRT.

I think putting one at the friction saver makes more sense but because of the shock absorbtion of the tree I don't feel it is neccessary in most cases. If you are climbing sketchy stuff at the same level as or above your tie in point I could see the value of something like that if things go bad.
