Dangerous Technique Alert!!! 2

There's an even more dangerous competition and that is the ignorance of customers who are trying to figure out who to hire, or maybe do it themselves.

I'm certain the 'climbing challenged' crew that thinks its plenty okay to leave the chainsaw running but set the break and strap it back on the belt only to reposition for their next feat, amongst other feats of will NOT be demonstrating their prowess at the TX TCC. Oh, there's no chainsaw event [yet]? Maybe they do; but will they pass the gear check?

This sarcastic quote somehow gets accredited to Don Blair [used without permission]: "Your everyday normal person wouldn't consider buying scuba gear and disappearing into the depths, but 25 feet up with a chainsaw - seems perfectly straight forward."

It's thru high performance competition we develop new techniques that can be applied to regular work. Think about auto racing. It's the proving ground.

OH FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!
I am very sorry, I have a sense of humor that comes from left field.

All I wanted to do was post a PARADY (make fun of) the original dangerous technique alert post.

I offer my sincere apoligies to all on this board who have taken my post seriously.
Hey, it was a joke! Lighten up y'all. Chill out, laugh a bit, life is too short for all this seriousness.
I mean come on, "The colition for Stop The Awful Maddness Please" (STOMP) ?!!! .002% of your donation etc etc etc?!!! No one got this? Really?

Gosh, I am flabbergasted. Just down right breathless.

It is no good if you have to explain a joke.

I will just crawl away now, sorry to bother everyone.

Cheers

Frans

I'll hold my hands up, I was hook, line and sinker. It was so long winded that I'd just assumed Frans had completely 'lost it'!

um,

wasn't franz just kidding in his first post? Doesn't anyone read the entire thread before writing?

Hey Franz,

I don't think you used enough emoticons in your post, maybe one of these

at the end would have helped.

DIE THREAD! DIE DIE!

Good reading can be found in the book titled:

'A Confederacy of Dunces'

By John Kennedy Toole
isbn #: 0-8021-3020-8

I like this book alot, so I thought I would recommend it to others. It is funny and it pokes fun at the so called 'establishment'.

Here is a quote: "Ah Fortuna! You have forsaken me!"

(fortuna is the goddess of fate in greek mythology)

I think we, as climbers, have an intimate relationship with this goddess.
Have not most of you prayed to her when you are in a tuff spot waaaay up in a tree?

"Oh Fortuna you wretch!"

A great book, was published and won the Pulitzer after Toole commited suicide. It was the dedication of his mother that got the book published.

Sarcasm is difficult to pick up in literature. Non-verbal communication is about 65%-90% of a message. This explains why sarcasm isn't always effective while typing something.
