Update:

I just called him and let him know there’s no possible way that we did the job and he says I’m calling his wife a liar. And he and his wife “will be coming to town” and that I’m gonna put my guys in a line so she can point out which one it was. I told him I won’t be pulling them off of a job so I can prove that I didn’t do something. He said yes I will and he’ll be here sometime this week. Every time I tried to explain there is no way it was us he escalated. Conversation basically ended with me telling him to have a nice day and him saying he will be seeing me.

This guy sounds like a miserable piece of shit…. Good luck with these shenanigans man.

My company's name is a lot like many in the South Puget Sound.


I've gotten two bills from a 24 hours/ self-report dump site that are not mine.


I've gone to bids before where they thought my company had been out before to talk to them, but I am certain I'd not.

Best of luck to never hear from him again.

I had a couple similar situations, and I just told them that they were wrong and that was all.
There no such thing as bad reviews if you explain the situation, if you reputation is good people will believe you.

Agreeing with @cerviarborist except I wouldn't waste money on a lawyer.

I would write him myself asking if he needs a letter from my lawyer.

If he does, it is money well-spent, not wasted.

I bet he would back the F down!

I'd drop a hundo to my attorney to send it, and make two in the same space of time. Core competencies.....Say it with me... Core Competencies.
