Wow! Thanks for sharing, and "taking me there". Sorry I missed it. Nice use of the muenter hitch by moss near the end of the video. Great stuff!

Yep, there was enough rope tail friction back through the tree I had to feed the munter to make it go. Probably could have simply lowered myself out by holding the tail but my rope angle was difficult, munter made it all more relaxed.

It's good to not need to argue with the Laws of Physics. Not to derail the thread, but I'm reviewing use of the super-munter hitch, said to countermand the twist introduced by the munter itself, for situations like what you addressed.

Super or Monster Munter is cool but... need to go slow on it, more rope-to-rope surface area contact equals faster wear. I've never found twist to be an issue for the relatively short time/length of rope needed to lower back from a redirect. If you're doing a long descent on a Munter, that's different, but then again Munter's not a good idea for rappeling out of trees, fails the hands off test.

That sounds great. I was thinking about a slideshow around the fire or something. Hope you're healing up well bud!
 
That would be awesome! Ill try and work on something for the springtime! I have lots of great new places to climb! Thanks for asking bro, Ankle is do great since i broke it snow boarding last year.
