critique my setup.

I use a grigri on a bowline + my lanyard when i do removals, especialy on a spar. Is this wrong? I've always been told this was the way to go. Maybe I've been misinformed?
 
Medtech, do you have liability, accident and disability insurance that will cover you if anything goes awry? While it's great that you've taken a professional approach to doing this work please be mindful of the what if scenarios that insurance is meant to protect you from. Check your policies to be sure and please don't start doing this for others until you are.
 
This is just an impression from the one photo but it looks like you need to use your rope and lanyard. They are not there to catch your fall but to position you securely so you don't risk a fall. People new to spikes don't lean back enough to get an ideal grip/spike in. You would look more secure if you were leaned back in your lanyard, and leaning against you top rope from the climber's right of the leader you're on. A lanyard can give you even more stability if you do a full turn around the stem then back to your ring. Those look like nice straight trees for a beginner.
