Some days posts like these look attractive...Just run someones crews without having the headaches of owning a business. But then I wouldnt have as much say in what happens, who gets hired, etc. I am blessed with a long-term dependable team that knows how to work together, and good equipment, so I have no reason to jump ship at this point...

It's definitely a trade off.

This is one of the best companies to work with in the Portland area. The company owner Damon really cares about trees. What a concept! They really focus on preservation work and have some really great clients (think large municipal clients). I‘ve done some training and contract climbing for them and have enjoyed working with them every time. The employee morale and the things the employees say about the company says a lot about it in my opinion. Tree work anywhere will grind you down to some degree as tree services are need machines. But as far as places to work, Treecology is a good one.
