Crane work

No. All the wood went to the recycling c. where they split the load into mill wood and other. Here's a shot of some of the logs I rigged out. There you can see how some were bad anyway.

No tappered hinge. Just wedged it since the bucket was right below and there was a strong head wind.

I'm very curious about the video featuring Mr. Chisholm working with cranes... how long/in depth is it? I work with a crane at least once every two weeks and have discussed possibly purchasing the video with my crew: perhpas we could learn something, which would be great. I think we are a very efficient crew when working with cranes already, but there's always something to be learned.

I have the video. Mark can correctme if Im wrong but I didnt see much instruction on technique as far as different cuts and rigging. It showed all the setup info and whys. It also explains the process to go through in using cranes. There was discussion on the snap cut.

You're right Mark. It's a video that was made to show each ANSI standard as they were being demonstrated on a real job. The circumstances were specific as was the goal, so not a lot on techniques for different scenarios. Maybe this year we'll do that?

I just rewatched it to refresh my brain. I would reccomend it if you are new to craning. The vid w/ the standards and some chat here will speed up the learning curve. Its always good to rewatch stuff once and a while. helps to remind you of the things that become habit.
