Yeah, I looked at some of the jobs I would use it on and I need a 100 foot of stick or more. It just doesn't make sense to not have that reach for what we do. I would just be over loading a smaller crane. I have to wait a few weeks until I get a few of these big job I am on finished up. Plus, we spent 145,ooo on equipment last year. I need a few months of not buying stuff to settle my accounts.
The LMI can be around $5000 so I've heard. A front outrigger can be added but needs plumbing and mounting. The dino line is the giuffre bros twist on terex lines if I'm not mistaken.
I believe only if it's programmed into the LMI, and I have no idea if that's doable. If it was never set up for 360°, just replacing the LMI won't get you there. Besides, since it's a behind-the-can mount with stand up controls, how would you see over your shoulder and over the cab to work in front of the truck?
I've heard good things about Giuffre. Since they built it, call them up and see what you can learn.
I both ran and climbed from a behind-the-cab mount, 17 ton boom truck with 85' of boom for several years and we did a lot of tree work with that truck! I've heard others on here say the same thing: Moving from no crane to something such as this is still a huge step up. If everything on this machine checks out, and the price is right, go for it. Run it, do what you can with it. Learn from it. If it's not what you want sell it. As long as you don't overpay for it, you'll get your money back.
Yes, more height and capacity is always great, no matter how much of both you already have. Follow that logic too far, though, and you'll never get a crane because you'll convince yourself you need a 200 ton machine with 400' of stick and you'll never be able to afford the $5 million price tag.
Yeah, but I haven't heard very good things about that company. I am a little concerned that crane might have been abused.Royce, you see the national 1200 cl nh? Right up your ally
