Crab device

Brocky, If the swivels were the correct distant apart, and parallel with each other, then the release arms could be oriented side by side. I have order a DMM Y3 link to see if I can make it work with 3 nano swivels.

Gordon,

That looks so cool. Will it work if the Gyro is attached to the crabs with two DMM Perfect O's ( the small ones) and then use the third ring 9f the Gyro as the bridge ring?

It will be just as compact for, in your current configuration, you still need a carabiner to detach from the system.

I will have to try that. It all becomes a bit much as it flops this way and that. I am contemplating making a universal joint (like I have on the adjustable BOLA) to install on the DMM Y3 linkit, to keep everything more compact.

Gordon, did you ever see the “helicopter belay” I set up? (name coined by @SoftBankHawks ) It was two Bones on Nano Swivels into a Delta Link into a Bridge Swivel. It held the Bones perfectly apart, but allowed simultaneous operation with one hand of desired. Each Bone could orient just how you pleased with zero affect on the other.

Pretty sure he made a nice video of him using a replicated system in a tree, DSRS style for the win. I’ll try to find it and post up.

Eric’s helicopter idea was (still is) light years ahead of industry standards. It’s kinda easy to run any two devices side by side, in a mediocre way, but man, since seeing Eric’s configuration back in 2015 I have been itching for a device that can really function side by side and retain independent function. Kevin has played with ideas, and now Gordon too. The Uni is pretty slick also. One handed operation over two devices is vital. To go between MRS and SRS is vital. To sit together without hindering function and without damaging each other is vital. I’ve been posting some dual Uni stuff on my IG page (woodenhand) .

I’ll put the links here.

Descent on two Uni’s.

3:1 on a 1:1.

Retrieve loop.
