Compact Bulldog Bone

It appears so, the buyer is sending the pin back to me to examine. I buy the stainless steel clevis pins from Mcmaster, and their product sheet says it is a US manufacture. I can install the half links as before I started using these clevis pins, if desired.

A buyer has found a defective clevis pin on his brand new unused Bulldog Bone, If you have a Bone with the clevis pin please check yours.

Wow good catch! I will be inspecting mine shortly. Thanks for posting surveyor!

I currently make the Bulldog Bone and the BOLA 2.0 (for which I have no feedback right now). I will continue to respond to private inquiries concerning pricing. I am unsettled right now because I am recovering from covid, and mom is under hospice home health care (she just turned 92 yesterday)

Wow good catch!
ive been using the BOLA 2.0 daily for the last month or so and love it. smooth, compact, solid build. definetly beats any other lanyard system i have used. thanks @surveyor
I completely agree. The tending is smooth as slik and I love how the top arm acts like a rope wrench for smooth decents. He really hit the nail on the head with that one.

Sorry to

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you recover quickly and that your mom is as comfortable as possible. Sending prayers!

Looks like a great configuration. Looks sort of like a DMM swivel. What are the components beneath the Bone? I think I would like to get this setup..
Thanks for asking this question, @Lee2019. It was exactly what I was wondering.

Big thanks to @Treezybreez for the perfectly detailed answer. It is greatly appreciated. I’d never seen one before you posted your photograph. Tim

I ordered a " DMM Director Swivel Boss D Locksafe Carabiner" from Treestuff using their "Wowza" 20% discount coupon and it is supposed to arrive this week. I had seen it at Arborfest 2022 in North Carolina and asked if it would fit the Bone. The DMM rep never heard of the bone. I had a contact from the show who could get the dimensions of the inner diameter and thickness, but haven't followed up. Will let y'all know how this works for me after I evaluate it. I am mostly a recreational wannabe arborist and 77 years old, so I will be giving this a light duty evaluation. I am mostly interested in how it fits and if there is any slop in the fit. I currently have a Rock Exotica Carabineer/swivel which does not have tilt and has quite a bit of slop.

RECALLED: DMM Director Swivel Boss D Locksafe Carabiner.
I received notice of the recall from Treestuff where I made the purchase. I followed the link to DMM where I was informed that all DMM products which use this same swivel mechanism are also recalled.

A product failure was reported in the field where the product totally failed at height, fortunately the climber had a backup attachment which prevented a fall.

I have registered today with DMM and am awaiting their response, expected mid November.

Thank you for posting this. This is the swivel I use for my bridge while using the bone. It's been 5 plus years with no incident. I'd be nice if they told us the circumstances under how this came about.

I'll order a rock exotica swivle immediately. I'm done with DMM

I have a Rock Exotica swivel and it works very well with some of the other multicenders but not particularly well with the Bone. But I will be going back to it until DMM fixes the problem. Then I will evaluate. The DMM swivel is not perfect, but fits a lot better than the Rock Exotica. I have to look at the rock exotica while climbing to make sure I do not encounter any cross loading.

I wouldn't boycott DMM over this. They had one failure and are addressing it immediately. That is excellent service from a company. Shows they actually care about their customers, and their company name.

Only one incident out of countless products. They have an excellent track record. I'm wondering if this particular piece of gear, unknowingly, received some damage causing it to fail at a later date?
