Compact Bulldog Bone

She works best with Tachyon for me but that's just the stock way it comes. Soon I'm going to try adjusting it for Vortex. Point is, adjustments can be made. Read through some of the earlier posts in this thread where I gave more detailed replies on the lines I tried. Heading out to climb some trees :)
Climb safe thanks for input.

The last Bone pictured in this thread is just like the one that will be sent to Aaron.
I first became interested in ascenders/descenders in early 2010 and have made many different designs since. In fact one of my first devices used a biner in a triangular slot to bind on the rope, alas no rope hitch above it.
Then I made a handbuilt Unicender for my own use in order to see how it worked. I then made an OAR with chain links which had a nice smooth release and used the upper arms as a sort of brake on descent. (There is a two arm OAR still being used in the UK for DdRT only). After this Kevin came to NC and showed me his ZK-1 Rope Wrench and I made aluminum Bronze sheaves for it, which a few are still in use. I also built my own rope wrench using the swivel Chain link and another wrench called a rope nut that was basically round. After this, and before the ZigZag was made public I made a device I called a pulley/rack based upon chain links also and threaded just like the ZZ except mine could be configured with a rope hitch above or my own proprietary headstock, which works SRT on the Tachyon rope (one is still in use last I heard) and there is a video floating around on youtube. Lastly I have made the Bulldog Bone which is now only a month old.

I'm psyched about it ! Surveyor I got all my stuff together today it'll be on its way in the morning and I'm anxious as a kid on Christmas morning !

I've run it on New England 7/16 KMIII with the largest bollard sheave up top. It played really nicely with it. That line is fairly firm and I think that contributed to the nice match up.

That being said, the rope itself is just too thin in the hand for work positioning IMO. I prefer a bit larger diameter.
