I am having a bit of a problem with the TCC scoring software.It seems that the time limit on the program is locked to 5 minutes both for the work climb and rescue..
Hypothetically speaking::::
I have two choices for a work climb tree.The first is lets say a large Fagus,It has a good central leader,open crown and good long laterals.There is the potential for long branch walks to the stations and nice controlled swings.
It is ideally situated for spectators to get great views of the climbers and enough room in the top to stack climbers.Here comes the problem this tree will take around six and a half minutes to complete!!!!!!!Hmmm.
Second choice Medium sized Quercus multiple leaders tight crown and some limited branch walking potential no where to stack other climbers and a very bad position for spectators.Only advantage can be done in under five minutes..Hmmm.
I hope you can see what I am getting at.I don't know if the program can be adjusted or not.If anyone knows how can they let me know.The regulations seem to leave the times open to the judges within reason but the the program doesn't.Has anyone else been having this problem..Time is important but good comp trees are more so in my opinion.
