Climbing saw lanyard

[ QUOTE ]

Big caritool, bungee lanyard, and locking biner. I have yet to accidentally drop a saw. See pic.

Ted The only thing I ain't liking is the big caritool ( flimsy), I have used this setup except the breakaway style. Just used this setup with double stitched webbing but I still prefer dog leash for its easy on easy off to the harness loop. Add I have not dropped a saw yet in three years of this method. No I lie only once dog leash clip was a bit how shall we say ' tired' with a stretchy spring. But your setup is good, I would use it to attach bigger saws than the 200T, with the saw having girth hitched webbing. Paul.

That is a nice set up banjo. I have the same lanyard. I don't have quite the same hook-up in which the O-ring is attached to, but I know I can make it work. What do you call that piece? (the non-locking piece sliped into the back of your harness/belt area) Gonna put that together tommorrow. Pretty much going to start putting things up for the winter here though. Starting to get hammered with snow. Almost ready to get the 18 wheels rolling!

Man you guys really over complicate this saw lanyard thing. 2n1 lanyard, girthed to the ring on the 200 or around the rear handle of the big saws. Use an old brass snap with the flimsy wire gate, took the gate off and hung it with a twisted clevis on my sequoia to keep the hook oriented out. Never falls off, don't have to worry about dropping it, and plenty of reach unless you feel the need to one hand the saw.......

This is my chainsaw lanyard. I took the idea of of Mark Chisholm's saddle. It is the same as banjo's sort of except I use the nonlocking carabiner to clip into the caritool. Having it setup like this allows you to clip it in from the top. Or the bottom using the nonlocking carabiner.

Hard to explain really but the unclipping is a lot easier in this set up.

Also I recently cut that ring out of the lanyard.

I really like the ISC snap Casey I think that would work for me as I have a bunch of them snaps. Thanks Paul.

Big caritool isn't flimsy. I've used that one for three years with plenty of big saws hanging on it.

Well have had three ( when I bought sequoia ) but I never liked the design and passed them on to a friend, he never mentioned their durability so maybe they passed the test. Obviously they work for you and Humper so sorry my bad.
