Climbing in Germany Outlawed?

That article was an opinion article.

If you look around at the competitions, etc, Europe (Germany too) produces more than its fair share of top notch climbers.

There is a ninja niché for illegal climbing in terms of doing jobs with only one certified climber instead of 2.

I think it's safe to assume that Mr. Polinsky doesn't really understand what he's talking about.

He obviously

a) didn't spend much time over here
b) has quite a narrow focus and a limited source of information

These are two points one might do well to consider before writing an article.

Mark well it could of been worse, go back back to 2001 when the the European Parliment wanted to ban 2stroke engines. Until they realised what problems they were going to cause within our industry. Also within others industries to.

Hope to see you all in Augsburg.

Scotty,

for heavens' sake, who is trying to ban climbing?

Regulation, yes - but banning... phasing out...?! I can't understand what this is all about! /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

On a more positive note: yes indeed, see you in Augsburg, I'll probably be there from Tue on... remind that boss o' yours to watch his diet and not to forget his lighter! /forum/images/graemlins/headboom.gif

Mark,

Dont Know who is kicking all this fuss up to be honest, somebody really got the wrong end of the stick. I´ve been bit out of touch recently with publications on what subjects that are being talked about at present. All my Arb News etc... just get piled up back home in the UK until I go visiting back home for holidays. So by the time I read them it the subject is probably out of date.

I think climbing trees is one of those things that people will always do no matter how hard others try to control it. I mean we are great apes. As long as there are trees to climb and people to climb them, trees will get climbed, regardless of regulations and laws. Its one of those things that no government could seriously hope to control.
Happy climbing over there.
