Citrus cleaner and a nylon type brush works well on my saws. Only one area on the pole saw that has taken a lot of rubbing. Probably from pines.

Veggie oil in any form works great to clean pitch and sap. If you use veggie oil in your saws you'll be all set.

I think that WD40 has fish oil in it and that seems to be a good cleaner.

Oven cleaner would be one of my last choices. The corrosive aspects of the chemicals could deteriorate the finish on the saw.

A brass brush works great for any scrubbing.

I thought of using the veggie oil but the citrus seemed like it would be less messy. The oil is probably better for protecting the blade though.
