Citrus cleaner and a nylon type brush works well on my saws. Only one area on the pole saw that has taken a lot of rubbing. Probably from pines.

Good to know. Thanks!Veggie oil in any form works great to clean pitch and sap. If you use veggie oil in your saws you'll be all set.
I think that WD40 has fish oil in it and that seems to be a good cleaner.
Oven cleaner would be one of my last choices. The corrosive aspects of the chemicals could deteriorate the finish on the saw.
A brass brush works great for any scrubbing.
