chippers

I demoed a few years ago (10 years maybe) just had come out. Very impressive chipping the drum was so effective at pulling the brush in it would break large crotches with little effort. But there was a pile of bolts under the xhipper at the end of the day. I am sure they have greatly improved them over the years I just have seen one in a while

Thats crazy... Our brand new Bandit came from the factory...It wasnt greased at all, not one fitting, we about blew it up on the first day. Then we find out the hydraulic things on the feed wheels werent bolted on...

Its a great chipper but the delivery quality was screwy...

did you order it direct or thru a dealer? that sounds like dealer prep fail to me. we have three bandits, 1890 brute, 1590, 1390. we really like them. work great with the bucket crews for handfed/winch work. No comparison to the woodsmens feed strength but good chippers so far

The chip throwing on the 255 is just ridiculous. When we demoed it we were chipping behind a bank into the woods. There was probably 20' of grass between us and the woods line and then 100' or so of woods/dense under brush. We had aimed the chute up to clear the under brush, thick buckthorn and . The climber in the tree starts waving his arms and screaming at us on the ground. Idle the chipper and he tells us were shooting chips into the road on the other side of the woods... luckily it was just a dead end without a house and no cars so we just had to hit it with the backpack blower.. Seems like it would blowout the back of a chip truck after awhile, wouldn't want an aluminum box with it thats for sure.

When chipping along a right away 1590 would not put chips over fence where the 255 disc blew the chip 100-150 ft off road that's all aim sayin,if your blowing in a truck they were very comparable, but I think the drum chipper was heavier

Can we see that puppy chip some wood, arbor man? Nothing fancy about that brush going through. Are you towing that with a 350? Looks maybe like a 350 at first, then switched to a 550?

I can get some video of the 1590 chipping wood. I will get something quick and unedited for you guys soon.

No worries, Nick. I was considering upgrading to a larger machine, but there are too many advantages of having a light weight chipper at the moment.
