chinook hitch

This is the latest version, a lot of crossings, could use less for better tending, but the rings aren’t very stable. If they shift too much they stop pinching. I think the tending is hard because the tension doesn’t get released like wraps will. Most configurations needed the bottom braid in back to grab reliably. This releases very easy for descending.

coworker and I were simultaneously pruning a large white oak, he was working 1/2 with the 75' bucket truck and I the opposite side Srt with my akimbo+11.7 blue moon. Neither of us could reach one limb with some crispies out over the home. So he set a line for me, groundee base tied it, and I hopped over onto it using the original chinook hitch variation from post #1 of this thread to Srt on his rope. No clue what his rope is and didn't want to burn production time futzing with the akimbo. The chinook worked beautifully for the task.

Same twists and turns on the two rings from last picture, but tried the FX instead of bottom portion of Sticht Hitch. I did’t notice any difference, both released easily.
Dogbone works nice for a variation of the Snap Hitch, instead of just wraps I used the single eye Knut H, surprisingly released easily on Single Rope.

i actually tried it using the HH2 but it didn't work too good. Did you just purchase the new Hh FX??!?
