Changes at SHERRILLtree

Good job Sean. It's hard to speak to the Canadian market except to say that Sherrilltree has zero control over Vermeer Canada, or any other dealer(s), just as our competitor(s) has not with dealers they resell to.

Look past the spite bud. You're a great family man (and hockey player). I'm proud to call you friend and devoted associate for all these years. Peace.

The thing that Sherrill Tree was failing at for years is innovation. New products would be on the market for a year without being offered by Sherrill. It seems like Sherrill first tries to take and copy a product with their own brand and if that doesn't work, they begrudgingly offer it many many months after people were seeking it out. In contrast, Treestuff works with small innovators/entrepreneurs and enables them to create some of the most useful new products offered to the tree care professions.

Respectfully, I haven't seen anything done yet to earn back my business.

I'm un-subscribing from this thread ... bickering is getting out of hand. I posted my position earlier, but I am glad to hear Sherrilltree realized they had a problem and are taking steps to make things better for future customer. I wish them good luck with that. Bye!

What happened? Dang I missed it
Beats me. I merely pointed out the irony of Bonner posting a video of an over-ambitious, blowhard polititian in response the very humble words of a hard working friend/associate of mine, and the next thing I know smeone's beating down the Treebuzz door. There was ZERO "out-of-hand bickering," ugliness or even salty language to un-subscribe from.
I generally avoid delving into negativity like that, although I'm not adverse to defending friends from bullying. Perhaps Nick will stow away his daggers for the holiday ...and beyond. Happy Easter all.

I read it. I didn't really think it was any more out-of-line than Nick's posts on the Sherrill thread.... if fact, less so. No reason to take it down other than keep things from escalating. Not sure if Nicks post was removed also but it should've been.

Yeah. I had to read it a few times. Seemed like a push then a push back with a warning to not make it personal. Pretty innocent and I'm just an observer of this.
Sorry guys. You know I don't like to get involved much. Just keep in mind that a post being removed doesn't confirm that it was inflammatory, insulting or wrong. Sometimes they get pulled because someone believes it is and we need to review it. We don't want to give wrong impressions.

I have been disappointed in Tree Stuff for a few reasons for a month or two now. I think they treat their clients like garbage unless you are a great friend of theirs. I have been looking for another supplier but cannot find one that has all of the supplies that Tree Stuff has. Myself and a few of my guys drove to Tree Stuff a month ago to return a defective DMM block that we purchased less than a year ago. The service that we received while we were there from Phil was horrible making us not even want to come back to the store or shop there again. We spend a decent amount of money on tree gear every year and would think we would have a little better service.

Nick, that's a super hurtful comment.

We paid to mail your block back to DMM for inspection. This is a normal part of the process that keeps everyone safe. They found nothing faulty about your block, but they sent a brand new one out from Wales on Wednesday. Phil is my aging uncle who runs the shop. He does his best. Please don't judge TreeStuff.com's legendary customer service on how our small local shop operates. We're a website. All of our resources go into the web. The store is there for local Indy guys who need bar and chain oil in a pinch.

You guys know you can email me about anything at any time. Luke@treestuff.com ..... The team running our phones are the best team we've ever had. They care about you. We meet in my office at least once a week to go over their marching orders. It's a short meeting because their only instructions are: take care of people.

I couldn't be more committed to every last person who interacts with TreeStuff. It has ZERO to do with being my friend. It's about respect for your work. My mom and dad have been arborists for 40 years and for my money it's one of the most mentally and physically demanding jobs on the planet.

I couldn't agree more with Luke's mission, it's nearly word for word SherrillTree's commitment for over 30 years. Good luck managing growth sir, and keep in mind that your company will be judged by integrity, as well as its weakest link.

Your company spokesman, Nick recently stepped into this politely delivered thread from Sean, and swung an insult that was by any measure tasteless and misdirected. Similarly, last November at TCIA, (where Treestuff had no booth), Nick snuck around placing tickets inside ours and many exhibitor's booths, inviting adult professionals outside, to, in his words "scavenge." And now I understand you guys are encouraging customers to paste your name over copyrighted catalogs of Sherrill, Wespur and others in lieu of creating your own? Well sir, smart folks will ultimately judge the quality of your commitment by the quality of your actions as well. Again, good luck.

As for SherrillTree, I'm stoked to be back in the saddle again. It's not full time, but enough to witness a huge change in direction and enthusiasm lead by the new ceo Tripp Wyckoff and a host of both new and seasoned personnel. A huge amount of skilled, experienced and exciting changes are under way!

FREE shipping, FREE returns, low low prices and the largest selection of quality arborist gear in the world!

Happy Easter all!

Tobe, if you guys dislike Bonner so much why does your new CEO Tripp Wyckhoff keep trying to hire him? I see the constant texts from Tripp to Nick.

You must have a little scavenger in you, Tobe, because you sure as heck came to our TCIA party and had a blast.

I have tons of respect for you guys. I'm excited that the bar is being raised. TreeStuff was born ready to serve the customer. Let's all keep it classy from here on out. Best of luck to you.

Yes, taking Nick's ticket, and an Uber after TCIA to the "Bonner show" was the highlight of that Friday evening... prior the Sherrilltree party that is. The look on select faces at my arrival was kinda classic. Ultimately, I was MOST IMPRESSED by the vibe and passion among the attending arborists, so very reminiscent of ISA climbing events past, only with a hyper commercial twist.

The respect is sometimes mutual Luke, however the constant drone of treestuff-reimbersed haters is growing tiresome. On top of that, your letters to numerous vendor friends, from Asia to Europe, threatening your "soon-to-be domination of all American tree workers" is ... frankly... weird. I encourage you guys to dial it back a notch. You have many years and a lot more professionals to reach to attain the goals you so ambitiously seek.

As for hiring Nick Bonner away from Treestuff, I can't speak to this. I know there was discussion after ...well, you know. If I were running things at the office, I would have a strong and adverse opinion, but I'm not. I prefer team members performing for themselves, it deepens talent. There's nothing about copyright-stealing skill that's needed in Greensboro, imo. Stripping it from you guys might be a different story.

I'm going to pm Hoowasat, a previous poster, who noted he was "checking out" over bickering, and tell him to remain checked out. This stuff is too funny!

Tobe,

I'm not going to respond in this space to your slander and defamation. I'm surprised and disappointed, but I have to work tomorrow. If you have something to say 317.281.1014 any time.
