Changed my life...

Yeah, I know, you should never back up a vehicle without a spotter but, get real, how many times have you done it cause you know you can do it, eventually, and you’ve always done it, before, when you had to do it because you’re the boss and it’s gotta get done and, besides, nobodies watching. This simple idea changed my life. Never again Truck Hitching_20150410_140907.webp a dented bumper and, at the most, 2 times jumping in and outta the truck (until your brain trusts your judgement) to make sure it’s right. Simple minds: simple pleasures!

Nice idea Rawtree. It might be useful to also always glance at your markers and make sure some well meaning soul didn't move them for some reason.

I would probably get more benifit from this than from the back up camera I bought 4 months ago and have yet to install.

Get a rubber wheel chock and replace the eyelet with a short section of rope. Do the same thing where ever you may be, put the wheel chock behind the truck tire, drape the rope in a 90 degree and wallah.

I've been doing that for a while (with a stick) every time I have to dump solo with a chipper. Works better than some of our ground guys' hand signals.

I like Brendon's idea too. Got plenty of chocks and ropes laying around.

A fellow who had a truck mounted tree spade showed me a clever variation

He bolted two pieces of lumber...1x3 maybe...so he could have a foldable L for each wheel. Painted florescent orange and slipped behind his seat made them easy to find and use.
