Im looking to buy some new chainsaw pants to climb in.I currently have a couple pairs of sips, but i would like something less restrictive.thanks for any suggestions.

I have a pair of Gladiators I bought in Europe. I am very pleased with them as far as ease of movement but they are pretty hot in 100 degree days. In the summer I'll usually climb without then and put on chaps only when on the ground.
For the rest of the year they are great.

I like the husky bib pants, but I've heard they are not being made anymore.

Lots of room to move, no need for a belt or suspenders, not even too hot in the summer, or not too often!

I really like the look of the new Stihl X Fit from overseas. Heres a link

Pfanner Gladiators. they seem to have the best fit for climbing and the material is durable.

I use Dickie suspenders with them to keep them up since the harness tends to pull them down on me.

Sam thy am if you come down to Texas and work for integrity,I would buy you $395.00 pants.thats how you can afford them.

I have pfanners and like them alot.

Stitches and hospital visit $500-$1500+ time off work or

$400+/- for chainsaw pants

How can you not afford them

Oh and I forgot
Being able to chase after my 4 year old daughter the same day if I were to make a mistake with my chainsaw

PRICELESS

Making 18.50 an hour and having a wife and a son and paying a 1500 dollar morgage every month I wish I could afford things like this. And I wish my bosses would pony up and buy stuff like this. I showed them the new pants sherrill is selling and they went off on who would pay that much for climbing pants

I tried the Stihl x-fit on in the store, and I found them a bit wiered. Movment was fine, but I found them sitting a bit to tight for my liking. Was worried air sirculation would be redused to a minimum, and heat/sweat would build up. And I live in Norway!

I'm on the sip train for the time being, but I do have a brand new pfanner lieing arround waiting to be "broken in". They do seem a bit warmer than the sip, but elsewise a sweet pair of pants.

I've got the SIP 5.1 and a pair of Gladiators from Austria. The SIPs weigh a bit less, but I really like the gaiters on the Pfanners.

There is a severe shortage of good chainsaw trousers in the states.

Rick has a pair of the SIP Progress (non-protective). He likes them a lot. You might check out their protective models.

Aren't you going to Sydney, Jimmy? You can probably pick up some sweet britches there.

Were they tighter fitting than the new Arborwear Stretch pants? Did you find them to restrict movement? What pants would you compare them to weight wise? What more could you tell us?

Never tried the new Arborwear pants, so I can't tell. But they didn't restrict movement, they just felt "tight", as if I'd stuffed my legs in a couple of sausages. So proably just a personal preferance thing. Probably better for someone not as fat as me :-)

As for weight they compare to the gladiator or the sip 6.1, I guess.

Elsewise they had nice warning colours and nice reflecting bands on the legs.
