Chainsaw chaps

Can you wash and dry chainsaw chaps, or will it ruin them?

yes. read the tag. cold water, no fabric softener for most

From my understanding it is said that it is better to wash and dry your chaps because it allows the material to no be so tightly packed together and (god forbid) when the chain would cut into them it will allow the material strands to be pulled out of the casing faster and clog the saw stopping the saw from cutting you further.
