Chain for ms192T

I just got a 192T which comes stock with a bar with a really narrow kerf (? I think is the right term). I opted for the 14" bar that comes stock with the 200t. The saw came with a chain that has a low-kickback, and I'm wondering what people recommend for this saw, for daily pruning and some TD's.

I was thinking about trying the 91vx from oregon, but not too knowledgeable with all of this stuff.

We have been using 14" bar with the low kick back Stihl chain. We have not had any problems. I personally like the low kick back chain in the tree, it just seems like a good idea. If you are doing lots of removals, there maybe a better option but I am very happy with Stihls chain for that saw.

I got the same bar and chain when i purchased mine also. I used about 50% and couldnt take the narrow chain and little teeth anymore because it seemed to pinch a lot easier. It lost a little power when i put the wider chain/bar on but not enough to make a huge difference. i would definently reccomend putting the larger chain on it.

Thanks, I heard a lot of warnings not to get the saw, that it was way under powered and not worth the money when you could put some more to it and buy the 200T. Well, after having it for the last month and using it quite a bit, I'm really happy with her. My old climbing saw was a 334T husqy and the stihl is much lighter and I don't notice much of a power difference.

Now If I was a regular 200T person, I might have more of an issue with the power loss... but I'm lovin the saw.

Yea I have had alot of good response to the MS192T, and most all of my customers get it with the #3005 000 4809 bar and run the 63PM chain. These are the .50ga setup. The MS192T comes standard with 3/8 .43ga bar and chain setup. This bar and chain combo are a gardeners tool, and not ment for the day to day cutting of the tree pro. You can up grade when you buy the saw.Great saw for trims, and small removals. On big TDs I would still recomend the MS200T.
See Ya

Go for the 'really narrow kerf'.

I've stopped using the 192 and went back to the 200, but I installed the 1.1mm kerf bar on my 200.
This bar and chain rock. The saw is about 1/3 faster cutting.

There are a few disadvantages to be noted.

If you 'hit' a nail in the tree you can throw your chain away. there will be at least 6 or 7 teeth missing or folded back.

The other disadvantage is that the bar and chains are cheaper to buy and will save you on petrol. This means you have to find another way to get rid of your Dinero's, Bucs, Euri's or whatever

I'm looking to buy new chains for my 200t, couple of questions WoodsmanPro or Oregon. i noticed the woodsmanPro has two different chains very similar the 30LP, 30LR. Whats the difference, one suggested over the other?
