Cedar removal

That little Kato crane is very cool. 80 foot of main stick is very functional. You can hang some branches on lanyards and then pick them up and you are taking down 100' trees with it.

Sutton’s crane is a Kato, Marques.

Chris, we’re actually paying someone to take pictures on several recent jobs of the climbing related hardware and clothing for catalogue and general marketing material, the reason I’m looking relatively clean and tidy in the photos.... but I figured it wouldn’t hurt for me to host some of the working shots here on the forum. The boots are excellent thanks, and very tough.

I mix and match with the bag i.e. up and down on the crane it’s probably best to keep it on the saddle. In and out on horizontals I’ll hang it or throw it.

Dave, the worst part for me of having the tree taller than the crane is having to set-up the crane almost right underneath the tree, especially one that holds a lot of deadwood. Staring down through the crane-op’s window directly below is not the most comforting feeling. Having said that, we’ve been 10-15 feet short many times, but still managed to make a pick bottom heavy enough to hold their orientation and come off smoothly.

Do you think I got the look Dave? Perhaps I'll give up treework!

You still planning to move over to this side of the pond?

Reg, not sure that I saw in the pics, but can the climber/crane bag be worn over both the shoulders like a sleek backpack and does it have, or could it be fitted with a waist velco buttoning system like the new Buckingham bag?

Thanks
Chris

No its one shoulder or the other Chris....that way its easy to slip round the back out of the way while your cutting, and then all the way to your front when the time comes to stuff your line in. It has a side attachment point also for which you can clip to your saddle if you dont want it swinging around too much. I'm not sure I've seen the buckingham bag.
