Cats of Treebuzz…prrrrr

Baxter the cat is one of my upstairs neighbors, definitely employed full time as a rodent exterminator. Sometimes he'll pop into my place to scout and give it the all clear

He was the chillest dude, to a point. Like all cats he had certain things that must be, or there will be consequences.
lol I love everything in this thread but this sums it up.

Our old cat Fenrich is diabetic and gets two shots a day. He also has had a bum eye since kitten years. My partner found him in a dumpster in Brooklyn 13 years ago.

Very cranky. Obese. Has attacked many, many people. A relative took him off our hands when the baby started crawling.

This is the Queen of our house, Lena. She was found a few blocks away as a feral kitten, severely malnourished and fighting a couple different infections. Despite her weakened state, she made a valiant effort to prevent me from catching her. Once she felt what it was like to be warm, clean and well-fed, she decided to stay. There was an awful storm the day before we found her, so the name Lena references Lena Horne who sang Stormy Weather. Naming her stormy was just a little too obvious for my taste. She comes and goes at her pleasure through a window in our pantry that we leave cracked most of the year. She suffered a dislocated hip a few years ago which is not repairable but she shows little sign of slowing down. She can regularly be seen up in various trees in our yard, often near the top, and has never been stuck. She also rarely uses the litter box, opting instead to go outside which is wonderful. She also greets us whenever we come home on our front walk, and frequently visits neighbors' yards. She has been known to take squirrels nearly as big as her, that our Dachshund then eats, entirely. A truly gruesome twosome. She is my animal crush!

He's the HMFIC of my entire back yard. Busy all day defending the castle. :-)
Your story sounds very familiar.

Our neighbors would keep their orange tabby indoors overnight, but as soon as she was let out, a beeline to our porch, then hanging around all day, until her owner called her in for dinner.

Over time, she got reluctant to go home in the evenings. I'd have to pick her up before she realized what was happening and physically hand her to her owner.

Then, he started letting her stay out for days at a time in nice weather. Then he started bringing over bags of food so we could feed her. Next comes the soft igloo cat bed for our porch for when it's chilly. During this recent cold weather, I just kept her in my basement. I'm beginning to suspect someone has given us another cat.

She is definitely HMFIC for my yard. Doesn't tolerate any intruders. Pretty hilarious watching her chase dogs away. Chipmunks are endangered at my house and squirrels are a species of concern.

Things All Cats Do That Prove They Are Psychopaths

^ Required reading before adopting a cat. A few examples you may not be aware of:
  • Consistently Score High On Triarchic Psychopathy Measure (TriPM)
On this self-report questionnaire, cats almost universally demonstrate high levels of antisocial behavior and indifference to the suffering of others.
  • Purring During The ‘Challenger’ Explosion
Statistically, a large number of them were likely purring with complete detachment as seven innocent Americans lost their lives.
  • They Don’t Cry During The Opening Scene Of ‘Up’
Only a creature devoid of emotion could keep it together while watching the part where Carl’s wife, Ellie, learns she is infertile.
  • Target Young, Lonely Women
Like every psychopath, cats seek out lonely young women and manipulate them to get what they want.
  • Voting For Joe Biden
Expecting meaningful change by voting for moderate candidates in an endless cycle of harm reduction is truly unhinged behavior.

My neighbor vehemently DENIED that it was her cat coming into my yard, so I made little videos of him coming over every day for a week. Watching the videos she said sheepishly, "Well, that does look a little like him." Then I turned up the volume so she could hear his constant wailing cry, which he does nonstop until you pet him. :numberone:

Meiwei, our family nurse and amazingly kid-tolerant cat. Bad signal, so the photo won’t upload.

Like a lot of names in our family, meiwei seemingly popped out of the air. Once we researched it, we were simultaneously inspired and entertained.

In Japanese, it means “forever enchanting”.

In Mandarin it means “delicacy”…

Owners moved or was dumped and was semi-feral. After a few months of trying to get her to stick around I was sleeping in the garden and one night she came out of the forest and started sleeping with me and now she's glued to me. She climbs to go after birds but unable to eat her catches anymore. Crazy smart, never been around such a clever cat actually.

My Patch is a long hair. She likes getting brushed, especially under her chin/neck. Inevitably she gets snarls or hair balls in her fur. They will brush out using the wire curry brush and Firminator. The problem is that the pulling is uncomfortable of course. I don't like hurting her so I fight for a while and stop before she chomps and shreds me.

Tonight I was brushing/fighting her and remembered that I have a glove bag that @Richard Mumford-yoyoman makes for rescue. Tomorrow I'll get it and see how it works.

The question I have is to find out if anyone has ever sedated their cat using OTC products.
