Carlton chains

I have a MS194T 14” which BTW isn’t listed in a lot of parts lookup. It has the 3/8p narrow kerf .043. I’ve been running the green chains reliably since that’s all the Stihl dealer has. If they’re sharp the saw doesn’t get bogged down. I just tried out a Carlton semi-chisel chain that they say is made in USA or Canada with domestic steel. Wow how different. The saw will throw some big chips now. What I have noticed is that saw just pulls through easily. I just lay it down and it goes straight through. I also, noticed that if I force saw it will stop. You know that this isn’t a powerful saw but, I’m not going back to the original chain. N4C-50E is the PN I’m using.

Bought a bunch (I think it was a box of 10 or 12) Carlton chains on sale years ago - use them on "disposable" short bars for work around stumps/ dirt. I must say with a filing, these things just refuse to die. I'd buy 'em again, esp. if on sale. Don't know if the steel would be the same but sure hope so.

I’m going to update this. This chain is still cutting awesome. I have 3 now. I haven’t even sharpened it after 2 weeks. It isn’t as grabby as it was new but, still throws chips. I actually think it’s a little better slightly worn if that makes sense.
