Carlton Chains

I'm looking to start making my own chains, and I am buying the oregon pre set and tie strap from treestuff, will the oregon ones work for Carlton chain?, how is carlton chain? I know it's cheaper than Oregon, but hows the quality?

Many years ago I bought a spool of Carlton chain for my pruning saws. During their use they would break. Some of the teeth had half of their length left when they broke. the gullets weren't ground deep either. After having too many chains break I got rid of the Carlton and have used only Oregon ever since. When the Oregon chains got short they became 'dirt cutters'. Just before the angled cutting edge met the back end of the tooth they would be retired from pruning. The last use, oink out of the pig, was to cut roots in the dirt.

i was running carlton 16" bars on a 372 working in the woods. They were junk. rails dont hold up, tips dont hold up. soft and junk. they were cheap, and you get what you pay for. I switched to oregon bars and have been much happier...
that has nothing to do with chains... I run oregon chains with the assumption that carlton chains are as impressive as their bars. I knew I was getting at something
