Bischofia javonica aka "Bishop Wood" or "Toog" The trifoliate leaves are the give-away. I had to ID foliage from one, when I sat for Certified Arborist, back when they still had a foliage ID component to the test.

When I first looked at the 50 species I was going to be accountable to identify, and saw Bischofia javonica aka "Bishop Wood" or "Toog",I remember thinking to myself "Anything called "Toog" has got to be trouble." It's the only tree I wasn't able to find a specimen of before the test so it kept me worried. I managed to successfully identify it when I came to a piece of it at the test, by process of elimination, because it wasn't any of the 49 other species. Go figure. Anyway, this species is now indelibly etched in my brain, and I see them all over the place now.
