Building a ramp for a crane

Sorry,

I have not tracked down the photos yet. I know there were a lot taken.

The job went very well, I estimated about 4 days, and they were out in 3.

Client's happy, my guys are safe, and I am getting hardwood floors for Christmas. Life is good.

I'll be sure to post the pictures soon. I am sad to admit it, but I haven't seen them myself. I'm terrible, I know.

Mark:

I'm writing to ask about this job you did over the power lines...You were tied into the crane for the cuts, so did you ride the crane over the power lines each time a piece was rigged, or did you stay put on the tree?

I did a job just like this (with no power lines) about 6 months ago that Tom Dunlap checked out (He didn't come on job day but just checked out the tree...)

We talked about doing it both ways...it's a delemma b/c if the tree's so dead that you don't want to be in it, is it really safe to rest in the tree between picks? Is it safe to ride around hanging from a crane jumbling up against the pieces of the tree? What do you do with your climbing line, stow it in a bag?

I ended up tying into another tree at a pretty bad angle. The RigEm&Roll helped a little to not have to go up so far, etc., but you could say I was in the 'grey' zone for a while...
