Bucket truck price

3 acre 10,000 square foot shop ughhh I can't wait till I find something like that. Bought my hurricane with grappl on it last year. I went from having a giant pile of pine spruce Willow to not having one pier of junk. Kubota u55 excavator was something eles I grabbed this past year. Amazing for storm work stumps, land clearing drainage grading.
Hurricane with a grapple, now that's productive!
I just succumbed to the fact an excavator is going to be on our shopping list soon. Let alone being able to use it with tree workbought a few other properties and they all are gonna need some excavator love.
gas chippers i know this may raise some hands but a gas chipper is going to be working harder then a diesel chipper to "cut the mustard" 250xp is all around good buy. can only buy as big of chipper as truck will handle.

1890 with a 120 hp= no bueno imo

big chipper and you want big hp. no replacement for displacement. i can take a whole tree down and chip pile in 10 mins with the hurricane as opposed to having chipper running all day at idle then revved up to chip a leader or 2.
if your gonan spend 40k for a new chipper diesel one isn't that far from it. i hear so many reviews about shmittys and tri state but they got some nice equipment looking past paint cuz i paint everything i own my color. my thing is dosent matter who's selling it it matters on price, even if its them.
We rarely work where a whole tree can be taken down, let alone moved around entirely once on the ground.
The majority of our work requires dismantling trees in tight areas. Most of our time is spent rigging out the trees. Material has plenty of time to get staged. The 1890 gets feed grapple loads loads of brush from the mini very efficiently. Logs 8"-10"+ get loaded in the trailer faster or left onsite. If I wanted to chip logs for some reason, I would definitely go with a 200hp+ machine. Our yards and dump spots are no more then 10-15 min away.

Nashville, like I was saying .... I was big into gas motors. Especially big blocks. I now own 6 diesel trucks with two currently on the road. They all run wonderfully. My favorite is my '96 F350 single wheel. Has a 460 in it now ..... till I pull my 12v out of my old dump. It's in my avatar. 96 is the truck, coal is an oil burner, and 449 is the cubic inch I'd like to bore it to. I may need a 6.7l block for that though. Then I'll have 7. :D

Okay so keep in mind I'm still open to advice. New gas chipper, new diesel chipper, or used diesel chipper are my options. Im just going to continue researching

@frashdog I see a couple new 2016 1390xp w/ winch 130 hp gas for $40k. I guess thats because they came out with a new line of drum chippers and they are trying to get rid of the old ones. I'm a big fan of gas engines too. But I guess thats something I would have to buy like right now.

I purchased one of these machines last fall. I've been happy so far except for the fuel tank size. I added wheel lift, winch, HD jack and a couple other small options and it was just short of 50k. When I was deciding I thought the same thjng, I won't feed full capacity logs everyday so the HP is adequate. I try to limit hardwood but soft wood there are no holds barred. Chip space becomes the problem. The 10" to 15" has been a phenomenal time and energy saver.

Is there still an option for a 13-15 inch or are they all 15 inch? Also there was no option to get a bigger tank?

Need to base your purchase on what type of work and material you produce.

Yes Craig I am waiting for it to be rizzo black as well. I just bought another truck, so that's in shop now getting painted first. I will continue to do repairs all season on hurricane. So I can paint next year. I need things a certain way before I paint it

The new model numbers are 12xp, 15xp and 18xp. When I bought there wasn't a small and large just a 1390. And yes it takes closer to 17" of soft materials... Not hardwoods!! I bought a leftover off the lot due to a change in the winch design on new off the line chippers so I kinda got the tank it had. I have a thread going discussing the tank and replacement cost if you search for it. No sense in muddying you thread with that.

@flyingsquirrel25 Yep I've read both the thread about the fuel tank and the thread about gas chippers in general. I am trying to not be that guy who asks questions that have already been answered elsewhere. My dealer has a 1390 w/o a winch 130hp gas that is currently being run around by him to demo by whoever, he said he can bring it out any time and I am excited! I wonder how big of a difference the 165hp would make in it? @flyingsquirrel25 do you have a video of yours chipping wood like 12-15" hardwood?

I know what you mean. In my head and on paper, I've built my Fummins several times over. Each scenario I get it all together and rolling, make any adjustments I may want or not, just to tear it all down and strip, epoxy prime, and final finishes. To many damn priorities in the way. That project sits. Nice big shop would help .....

Nashville, I hear everyone's counter arguments with a gas chipper. You will save on purchase price and benefit from a lighter chipper with a gas engine. I was at my Mobark dealer today cause I had time to kill. I drove through the lot then went in to inquire. I'm after their used '07 MR18 w/ winch, 174 horse, and 350hrs at around 50k. I compared prices to the new stuff.
20MR w/ winch, 325hp - $150k, 15MR 140hp cat -$70k. He then proceeded to tell me about the gas model version of the 15MR with 130hp for $65k. All the same conversions here occurred in his office. Then I brought up the point of longevity and reliability. He said not as much when comparing tier 4 diesels and gas engines. I quickly pointed out to him, I'm after your '07 model. He agreed, "keep it and don't let it go."
I'll take that 174hp CAT oil burner, Thank you.

@96coal449 yeah so right now I am thinking new gas or used diesel. However it seems like all used diesels have too small of an engine(I guess all the larger ones are snatched up fast) I probably would want to spend $30k tops buying used but wouldn't mind spending $50k new. Those budgets are based off of literally nothing just what I thought of.

I'm looking to spend $50k used with 350hrs so ..... new? But I'm also looking at practically double the machine. It has a 20'' throat, and will eat anything fed to it. The 20" MR will take up to 22 inches. I don't know why they label their machines like that. There are a lot of used chippers out there. Shop Bandit and Mobark and you'll see a lot of decent hour units ready to chip. Lot's of buissnes upgrade to larger units and trade in their 12''ers. Seems to be a fair amount under 30k, which is your range. Find that older 140hp 15'' and your set for years. I'm Impressed with the 15'' models.

Get a decent chipper and a bucket. Both will make you money to allow you to upgrade to something bigger and newer.

When you start buying big toys the payments going out to the bank every month will make your mortgage payments seem rather small.

@96coal449 yeah I hear you I'll just have to shop around for a while.

@RoyalTree thats another thing I don't even have a mortgage yet because I haven't had 2 years of profit because I just keep buying stuff. So I need to think about how that will affect my ability to get approved.
