broke my needle mid whiplock

Just finished a double braid splice on bluemoon and broke my needle mid whip lock. Do I need to rip the whole thing out and start again? Also, does anyone have any tips on doing the whip lock it was really hard to get my needle into and out of the rope.

Do it a little further from the eye. Use thin whipping twine to invisible lock stitch near the eye and maybe make extra whip lock a bit further down.

Use pliers to pull the needle through. True story.
