Bridge getting caught during footlock

I've recently been practicing footlocking (Much to my contempt) for an upcoming competition. During my locks, it happens repeatedly that my bridge/ring gets caught between my thighs and almost "holds me down" during my leg extension.

Does that happen to anyone else? How did you get around it?

If you guys have any ideas regarding bridge length, prussik attachment or just technique, please let me know. I dislike footlocking enough and my bridge getting continuously stuck isn't helping ...

How long is your bridge? I was using a long bridge for a while, but it would hang up in a variety of ways. Making it shorter helped a lot.

In all seriousness, I used to tie an accessory biner onto my prussic and clip that onto the neck of my t-shirt. It would keep the prussic and bridge out of the way and make for a cleaner lock. I'd take a picture but I haven't seen my prussic in about 3 years.

if you are comp climbing hopefully they are using a 5point fall arrest harness for your belay. if they are using the petzl one with the chest connection that is where i attach the prussic. this is the harness used at NATCC and ITCC. if your comp has you put a harness over yours id say go with the carabiner on the t-shirt trick if there is no chest connection. to do this i made a prussic loop out of throw line and tied it onto the prussic.
