Brand of chain

What is your preferred brand of chain? Thinking about trying the woodland pro from bailey's. Any thoughts?

One to stay the hell away from is the forester chains. Maybe we got a bad batch of them or something but we've had brand new chains break in days. And it's not like it's been one or two we're talking upwards of a dozen.

Oregon chains in general seems to be the softest, easier to sharper, but of course you have to do more of it.

Never had any real complaints about stihl chains, rakers a little high out of the box but that's about it.

Woodland must get someone else make their chain, anyone know who?

i prefer the Stihl. when i used the oregon I couldnt get the saws to stay tensioned properly the chain would strech as it got hot.

Stihl are supposed to be "pre-stretched" IIRC. Are any others. New Stihl chains still stretch, but I hear not as much as other brands.

I've done mostly hand sharpening of Stihl chains. Very do-able, just have to have sharp files, as with every cutting tool.
