BF II Problems

I have been climbing on the BFII for almost a year now. I have a couple of small problems I am hoping someone has had and may have a solution to.

1) The elastic leg straps in back come loose or completely fall out everytime I take the saddle off and on.

2) The adjustment buckles wont hold adjustment. I have to readjust them everytime I am in the tree, usually more than once especially if I have a good sized saw on my belt.

3)The ring on the bridge is very small. You cant flip a biners gate through it, so you always have to tie your biners with the gates facing down so thy can be opened without having to retie your knots.

1-double back the ends of the elastic straps to lock them off. Or...tie an overhand knot in the strap which will jam into the plastic slider buckle

2-If your layers of work clothes don't change with the weather you could add a couple of stitches to lock the webbing. Nick had a great suggestion...add another layer of webbing into the buckle. This might give the buckle more thickness to bite onto.
3-Add a stainless steel shackle to the bridge. Or use a gated biner/rope snap biner to anchor one end of your rope.

Tom thanks for te suggestions. Do you add the biner or shackle to the bridge directly or through the ring?

those elastic straps kind of a pain, i learned on the old petzl navaho to just half hitch them back to them selves and then you never touch 'em again. tom i like the bridge mod. what if we just tied a loop (instead of fishermans knot in each end) or would it just be in the way?

Tom....nice pics! Where did you find that little shckle? is it rated at a specific working load?

Mark....any pics of the triple back you describe? I am envisioning it just want to make sure I get it right.

Good website. What size is the one your using? I would like to be able to put the biners through it, and still be able to spin the gates through if I tie in on the other side of the biner.

BUT I dont want a boat anchor on the front of me either.

I think the 5/16" but I'd have to measure. They have the dimensions listed for all of the gear. Use and open end wrench as a micrometer to tell how large the gates on your biners are.
