Best setup for Spiderjack not using spliced eye

Looking at a buying a hank of rope with spliced eye, what are the top ropes for the spiderjack? Is it better to go with a 24 strand? and 13mm? Thanks for any info. Picked up the spiderjack today. Looks good.

I run Tachyon, but haven't tried others. Id imagine smaller ropes will self tend through the cam more freely. Really want to put it on my velocity and try that, looks like it runs super smooth in that spiderjackery 3 vid.

I am a 11mm fan. Finger clamp between the last knuckles and the palm.
Ropes a personal choice. Like boxers or briefs.
I like 11mm and low stretch and a bit waxy and tight.
I am running Gleistiens Lizard and Samson Velocity.
Cheers

I believe the smaller diameter (below 13mm) and tighter woven outer jacket are the better performers. I run it on Poison Ivy. I just got a 200' run of Imori and will try it on that also. I swear there was a recent post about new 13mm Samson Velocity not doing so well, I could be wrong, I just threw the SJ2 on the Imori over a CMI pulley in the basement and it feels fine for grab and braking although it doesn't self tend quite as well but I'm not outside in a tree either. I have an Arbormaster BRW 13mm line I never considered using to climb after using PI.
Best of luck with your new set up and hope to hear an update.

I don't think it would be right to sell it since it is almost an exact copy of the actual part. If I can find the time to churn out another I will send it to you free.
pm me a shipping address.
Todd

Here is a picture of it on the SJ2

I've been climbing on the Spiderjack with Imori for quite a while now. It doesn't self tend as well as Velocity but you can get another few weeks or months out of a clutch by switching to the fat rope.

Scrat really nice work there. Was thinking that using a thick er rope will allow the cams to last longer. Don't really care cuz picked up the spiderjack today and have 3 extra. Thanks for the heads up.

I use a 6" rock climbing QuickDraw to extend the attachment above the sj, this has an integrated rubber thingy that keeps it in place on the lower carabiner.

I do too but you have to watch out many of the rock climbing quickdraw loops are only rated 22kn or 4945LBS. which is below OSHA required 5000LBS.
There are some out there rated 25 and 27kn
