I'm out. I am friends with the people of TCIA and speak to them all of the time, so in other words, I would cheat.

Anyone want to bet $10000 on who gets the cover of the rigging bmp's?

I'll accept your bet if you want to apply it to the TCIA cover as we talked about. :)

Dave, good for you, its a great photo. I will send the $20, you have my word.

But I gotta ask, I assume all we had to do was post the photos in this thread right? we weren't supposed to send them to the magazine or anything like that?

[/ QUOTE ]YES you should send them out! The magazine needs good pics for the future--when they got an article on topping they got no pics with it so they had to pull pics from their archives, which were not of topping.

Also see Dec Arborist News article on bugwood.org and the image collection there. They both need pics of all kinds, removals and arboriculture too. You guys are good with the cameras; why not share?

Reg, you don't owe Dave anything. He was already onthe cover by the time he made the bet. Come on Dave, be a man.

That is a cool shot though. Nice to see the TCIA using real technical photos.

Very nice Dave.

I agree with Mark, it's nice to see TCIA using real technical photos.

I agree, thats a bit shady.

What a great picture though! TCI is really stepping it up recently with their photos.

yes, I already was told that I was going to have a photo on the cover, that's why I made the bet.

It was totally loaded and if you take the time to look at all my past posts I did put in hints
devbug.gif
the whole time.

No you guys definitely don't have to pay, I was having some fun and I figured it would be obvious once it came out.

If someone felt obligated to pay, even though I tricked them, it wouldn't go to me anyway, it was for the special olympics, not ME.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

We are a small operation and it's a big thing for us to get on a cover of a magazine like that. They also used two more pictures inside on pages 26 and 27.

so we are very happy.

I hope you can see that I was giving hints
devbug.gif
devdude.gif
during my previous posts; that I knew that I would likely be on the cover the whole time. The game was loaded in my favor the whole time and I wanted it to be obvious once it came out.

I wanted it to stink.

I had a feeling after the first mentioning and then especially after you were telling Chris that December didn't count it was only for January on...Good one though.

After seeing this thread and seeing the great shots it makes me want to take time on the job to get more cool photos. And Reg, do you mind if I submit your photo for the TCIA rigging manual?

Mark, Tchukki has that one already. Thanks though, and by all means give her a nudge on my behalf.

Dave, I got no issue with the rigged game, because I knew the $$$ was for a worthy cause. Maybe next year we'll up the stakes though, winner take all!

Ill hold up m $20 as well.

Lets start a new thread, make it interesting maybe $5 or $10 a piece? Maybe we can get TreeBuzz to hold the $ for us to keep it fair and worthwhile? I think this would also make TreeBuzzers more apt to submit pictures to TCI Magazine and ISA magazine. Cover shots only though.

It sounds like a lot of buzzers have been on and in the magazine, shows we have a good crowd here at tree buzz.

I decided to show tcia pictures after i saw that picture of the climber standing on the side of the house dealing with storm damage, I thought it was one of the coolest pictures.

First time I thought about submitting pictures.

Good group of people at tcia.

I think they made my picture look even better with "cutting out" the k-boom and slings and putting it over the covers words and title.

I think if you guys submit pictures, you might be suprized, they might just use them.

They must be desperate, they used 3 of mine.
w_b.gif
Of course, the more you submit, the less chance I'll get to be a celebrity again.....

Hey, on that cover photo, I'll give credit here to MattyD (a fellow co-worker and buzzer, for snapping that shot with my camera)

That's a wicked good idea.

I'm assuming the money still goes to a charitable cause?
