Hey Jimmy do you ever put your main line above the block just in case the load were to end up stuck and on top of you lines. Doesnt look like an issue in this picture due to the angle of the spar . Just curious. I have found myself unable to move until the load was taken off the line on more than one occasion. On the other hand, it can be a bit unnerving thinking about your rope being rocked off the top as well.
Cool pic.

This one is from Congaree National Park in SC. We were filming up in the largest loblolly pines in the US for a NPS documentary. This shot was taken from the national champ loblolly. I was assisting the cameraman (in green helmet) up into and around the tree to get good shots of the climbers in the national champ.

Hey I recognize that tree :-) I had the opportunity to climb it while photographing the first measuring climb of the champ loblolly (168.7 in 2009).

Merry christmas all . I took over a thousand pictures this year , but I was the cutter and photographer . Better than nothing , I have sh*t to do . Work for many companies and this is a third of my jobs . No real action shots , but maybe next year I'll focus on the cuts and not the job , check out some of my other pictures from 2010 if you like , nothing special but I did it and it was treework . click here for some more photos

Hey Riggs, some pretty nasty trees in those pictures nice job on them. I noticed you used Bauman Crane for some of the removals. We use them quite a bit as well, who do you usually get for your operator?

Honestly jesse I usually adjust my lanyard below the block so it doesnt get in a bind. That was years ago so now I use a friction saver or choke my climb line for and escape route. But sometimes im lazy and dont but ive never had problems with binding, but its a good heads up and I will keep i it in mind.

Cool Andrew!

I used to work with Will and Ed. This was my second documentary support climb with Will. This one was shot over three days in July, and we ascended 5-6 times each.

At one point, we had to transfer trees, so to avoid the descent and ascent, we set up a 60' traverse at around 120' up. The cameraman got a moving shot of the champ as I "lowered" him across with a tag line. I got to go across, too, but I had to pull my way across with an ascender once I reached the middle...

I'm out. I am friends with the people of TCIA and speak to them all of the time, so in other words, I would cheat.

Anyone want to bet $10000 on who gets the cover of the rigging bmp's?

I'll accept your bet if you want to apply it to the TCIA cover as we talked about. :)
