best motorcycle for bidding tree jobs

The car & motorcycle are right side up on my phone, and upside down on both of my computers. The dogs and the trike are right side up and turned 90° to the left, respectively. Go figure!

I've been riding since 1973, but if I wanted to portray a sense of professionalism when initially visiting a client, I would NOT be on my bike ... and my bike is quiet. Arrive on a loud H-D and your chances of being successful may be hurting before you even open your mouth. WE are aware of the risks, but many people view motorcyclists as thrill-seekers and risk-takers. When bidding a job as dangerous as tree work, I would rather their first impression of me be favorable.

That's why the moped and the vw are the top estimate vehicles on this thread. I'm going to drop for a moped soon.

I really get annoyed by guys driving around in diesel trucks without needing them.
Whoa. With an attitude like that, do you ever ask why anyone "needs" a Corvette? I've had a couple ol' guys banter me about wasting fuel while filling up my (gas) Excursion. It wasn't so much that I needed it for towing my 24' enclosed car trailer ... I just wanted it ... and I now find I miss it often.

around here everybody has a cousin who works for a line clearance co. Or an uncle Billy Bob who used to be a logger and they don't take you serious if you don't roll up in a pickup.

Sorry you are bidding work for those people. No offense to them, but if they need a big truck to take you seriously, that is their problem. I do still estimate for people like that on occasion, but in the end I can't compete with "cousins or uncles".

You know, in the end it is not what you roll up in or on, it is not what you wear, and it is not how you present yourself. The one and only thing that will ALWAYS set you apart from ANYBODY ELSE is your knowledge and expertise. I always hear The "cousins and uncles and A1 expert companies" boasting: " I've Been doing this for________ years! ". As if that was some kind of credential. You can have all the experience in the world and still be doing it wrong if you never learn how to do it right.

Here is the mathematical proof. :

(20yrs experience ) ( 0 hours tree work education) = ZERO experiencetreeworkeducation.

And here is another cool pic. Have rustic drum set, will travel.
