Battery Top Handle Saw

Ive been eyeing the Ego top handle, wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. Also any reviews or experiences with any other battery top handles are welcome and appreciated

Looks pretty nice, not too familiar with ego. I have an 18v Makita since that's my main tool platform. Works well for general pruning but it would be nice to have something more powerful for larger cuts or small removals. Waiting for the 80v XGT version to come out.

Yeah my tool platform is Hitachi/Metabo HPT and SKIL right now if either made a too handle id be looking there for sure

My buddy has a Husky battery top handle. Works great! I’ve watched him firsthand piece out huge trees with it, use it for crane work, and it appears to hold up just as good as a gas saw with bigger branches and stuff.

I've used a little EGO homeowner grade chainsaw a fair amount. I do a lot of work for a friend who has a whole set of EGO stuff - mower, blower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, pole trimmer, pole chainsaw, chainsaw. I'm not too impressed with the chainsaw. Worst feature is a little thumbwheel for adjusting chain tension, which is difficult to use and get enough tension. Consequently, it throws the chain regularly when cutting up big bamboo (3"+ dia), which is a routine chore. I'll bring my saw(s) if I know he's got wood cutting planned. Hopefully, the commercial grade products are better. I'm glad he has plenty of the 56v batteries (in 2 capacities), as I rarely complete any task with any tool on one battery.

I've used a rear handle EGO version I believe to be similar. I didn't have high expectations, but was still surprised at the power. The battery didn't last long, but the saw cut what I asked of it. It felt solid, not ergonomic or easy to get leverage on the bigger cuts. I'd consider one for light use in the tree maybe.
