Bank nationalization

I was reading this article, and anticipating the outcry from the right wing blow hard's about how the federal government can't be trusted to efficiently manage anything, I instead wanted to pose this question.

Read the article.

You guys were real quick to put all of your trust in Cheney's ability to run the business of war, why can't you have that same trust in Obama to run a peaceful nation?

Forced change is a hard pill to swallow. What's been evident in the reviews of each institional failure were the whistle-blowers that were aware of and tried to warn management, from Madoff's crimes to AIG's bookkeeping. Same said for the war effort since before the invasion to during and ongoing.

A systemic policy of pounding-out top-down decisions, removing any obstacles of caution or side-effect, avoiding laws or changing them to insure a 'no-holds-barred' effort to squeeze and maximize all fiscal returns in a free-for-all justification to profit and grow even if it means death and destruction for all except them. Unprecedented in man's history in the effect it's had and equal only to a nuclear mass-exchange in it's lingering impact.

one for you oakie!!

I'm most likely one of the absolute last people to click on, then play a Youtube anything.

There's a glitch in both computers that keep me true to my position, and when offered a fix, declined it!

Actually, bank "nationalizations" are nothing new in America for the last 80 years.

It's happened almost every one of those years to boot.

It happened to Lincoln Savings and Loan not so long ago.

You guys need to appreciate the distinctions between short term nationalizations to re-establish credibility and ethical conduct before reprivatization, from long term nationalizations like in communist countries.

Splitting hairs for political gain is also nothing new under the sun I'm sure.

That's good because I'm sure you would of found my link highly offensive.

You mean like the blow hard republicans who wanted to reel in fanny and freddie? and brought it up to congress and guys like barney frank who said it was ok ? kinda like that you mean?
The people on freddy and fannie payroll are Chris dodd, barney frank, Obama got money from them. And franklin raines took a 90 million dollar golde parachute.
What they are fighting over is the low income loans that started the entire cascade effect of the world economy because, companies had bad paper in their mutual funds etc!!
By the way Barney frank is still the head of the senate finance commitee??!

Yeah, for the past two years since the democrats held a majority in congress the republicans have been trying to pin the inequities of the prior six years of the Bush/Cheney regime on them...

That's part of the reason they are called chicken hawks.

Take off your hate Bush hat for one stinking minute and face reality! It is not about party?! If you go on you tube and search fannie mae freddy mac hearings you will see the footage from the actual meetings,I tried to provide link here but had some trouble linking it!! Lets just hold our elected officials accountable regardless of party OK!!?? integrity is what we are lacking in Washington!
Person after person saying they are ok and they have done a great job etc. Watch it for yourself !! dems da facts.!

"Less regulation" has been the mantra of which party, since Nixon?

Granted, the Dems are almost as pathetic but we're here now, trying to bail the boat with a teaspoon, which was torpedoed by the "ownership" administration, bent on profit at all costs.
