I was waiting for that.

Good question.

Here's why it has such low hours.

The highest part on this chipper is the yoke lift, the arch of steel that the hydraulic lift cylinder attaches to.

This got bent with the original owner, and also bent the hydraulic cylinder. I don't know how, but we think they probably drove under a low hanging bridge or something like that.

Since it was bent, it just sat. Maybe the business went bankrupt or something. But it just sat.

Later it went to an auction. Battery was dead and no one put a battery on to check the hours (lucky for my brother).

My brother saw it at the auction and checked it out. When he saw that the paint was hardly worn off the drum cutter wheel, he said, "Wow, this things hardly been used", and figured it had less than 100 hours on it. He actually by chance said, "I bet it's like 70 hours".

He wins the bid at the auction and takes it home. Puts a battery in it and finds it had exactly 70 hours on it.

He already had another 1890, but had to get this one for the good price it sold for.

A welding shop straighted the hoop perfectly and put on a new lift cylinder. No other problems at all.

My brothers full time mechanic, changed all the oils and filters before they ran the machine.

They had it for maybe 4 to 6 months and only put 100 hours on it since they had two 1890's now, and really were only using one or the other, not both at the same time. He just wanted to sell it to make some money on it. He likes his orinal 1890 because he has the extra wide feedwheel option on it.

He sold this auction 1890 to me in February or March 2007.

My new large International truck was supposed to arrive in March and this was going to be the chipper for that truck. However my International truck was delayed. I used the chipper three times. My F550 is too short for that big chipper. I took some pictures the one day I used it on a job (they are on my web-site)

International screwed me good by not delivering the new truck untill the very end of July. Didn't get the truck in my hands till like the end of August or September (got a crane and hooklift installed). Just when the work season is slowing down I finally get this truck. I bought the chipper in March, didn't make me any money sitting, had more men hired thinking we'd be in two crews in April, and the big expense of the new truck, without actually having it. I don't have the money to complete the big chip body for this new truck, so I haven't been using this chipper yet. I put 10 hours on it the whole summer. Actually it has 182 hrs, I start and run it now and then to keep things lubricated.

If you know equipment, you will be able to tell that these hours are real. Outside paint is faded a bit. Has never been re-painted to cover anything up. Look at the little wear on the drum, feed wheels, pintle hook, yoke slides, etc. and you will know it's 182 hours.

Any potential buyers should come see this chipper in person. I have logs on site that we can chip.

thanks,

only serious offer I have is $31,200.

I'll sell it for that if I don't get any other offers!

184 hrs on the chipper now.

If you want to see it, you better contact me ASAP.

I can't believe I've only had three people call about it.

I had it on treetrader.com for like 15 days. Ad ended yesterday (Dec 10).

I might end up selling tommorrow (Dec 12) instead of the 13th.
