BAIL OUT KIT - for work in a hazard tree

while your at it set your tip in the good tree as high as possible also raise a rescue pully with a second climb line use the rescue pully as your tie in for Ddrt if you get your bell rung on the swing your crew can lower you

lync,
Now we're talking! I've been so hung up on other thoughts about this thread that I never would have thought of this!
Your suggestion is my favorite part of this thread.
Thanks.

This is a good point! I work SRT, exclusively, and ground anchored with a lowering device -- rescue is 'built-in'.

However, though it's not always possible, it's much better to design and clear any potential swing the so you DON'T "get your bell rung" ... or a stub in the ribs ... etc., etc.

EDIT:
Notice in the OP video, the swing was completely clear of any obstruction ... so, bell was NOT rung. I think this is a very important caution when planning and setting-up for any bail-out situation.

Could even go a step further and set it up so you don't swing.

Seems like a bail-out = swing ...
I'd like to hear more about; "set it up so you don't swing" ... could you expand on that a little?

Could even go a step further and set it up so you don't swing. The easiest is an anchor line low opposite the swing.

I've done something similar by having a groundie belay my tail to keep me in the right position.
