bad luck?

Normally whenever I do work for somebody, it works out Ok, the client is happy, the job is good, no damage, etc. Whenever I work for this one guy though, something ALWAYS seems to go wrong. I get along really well with him, the guy's a good friend, however almost every time we try to work together, something goes wrong. Today I nailed a service drop for the cable TV at a house with this Atlanthis top. Usually that would have NEVER happened, but IDK what was going on today.

Any of you guys have reoccuring bad luck when you work for certain people?

Boy, this is a bad memory /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I was hired to prune an apple tree that was overhanging a patio. The client showed me the limbs they wanted off and kept too when I did the estimate. When we showed up to do the job she came out and showed me again. I started pruning and spaced out. Cut off a limb that was a screen between the patio and the neighbor's site line. She was angry to say the least. But it wasn't really terrible, she calmed down and was OK, I did a lot of bowing and chest thumping. She was really pleased with the magic we worked on the rest of the overgrown plant material.

Then we got hired a couple of years later to shape things up. Well, I did the same dang thing /forum/images/graemlins/bangtard.gif /forum/images/graemlins/bangtard.gif Just as I was cutting off one of the keeper limbs she walked onto the patio and let out a loud choke. It was too late...the branch was cut. Needless to say, that was the last cut. We cleaned up and tucked our tails. The work was done for free.

I have no clue why my brain fell on the ground twice at that job. In my whole career I have never done that even once. To do it twice on one job...must be a negative vortex for me there.

It was a good thing that we didn't end up in court.

There's this one tree at the garden I work at that likes to eat my throwballs or cause me some kind of other extreme frustration. I've tried to clean the tree up four times and I can never finish because something goes all wrong. My boss likes to call it my "career tree". /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Two summers ago I was helping out a friend by pruning some of his trees. I was walking on the ground cleaning up and found a ground hive of bees. I looked down and my legs were covered with bees! I ended up getting stung about 20 times.

This last summer the same friend was remodling his bathroom, and I offered to help. We were tearing apart the shower, and ripped off a large piece of cement board with ceramic tiles on it. As I was getting ready to throw it into the dumpster it broke in half and landed on my foot. It ended up breaking my big toe, and I was in a cast for over a month.

A week ago he called me and said his electricity was shorting out in his house. He thought it might be caused by some branches that were touching the house drop power line. He asked me if I would prune those branches for him. I declined the offer.

We also do landscaping and one summer i had to mow some dikes. They where very steep. It was almost not done to drive the mover on it. I just made me angry and finished the job. After i got on top again i got some itchie feeling in my paints.....Dropped my paints on the spot and jumped around for some minutes. I was stung in my (fill in yourself). So i went to the doctor for medical care. When i showed the problem it took him 15 minutes to stop laughing. I couldnt walk straight for about one week till the trowbags where decreased in size.

After that i take care of bees before i start. (had to take a big beech tree down once with a wasp nest in the trunk, i powdered them out two weeks before i did the job with strong poision)

Also at the same dike i tipped over a tractor one year later. A special low gravity hill mover and still going down hill. One axle (the lower)fell into a rabbithole so it was out balance. Had to call my boss to say the mirror was broken.

me; Hi boss, i had an accident. I have good and bad news... /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
boss; Owh? what is the matter /forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
me; The good news is that only the mirror is broken. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The bad news is that my tractor is on top of it. /forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif

For a story to contain the words, dikes, dropping pants, swollen trowbags, and rabithole it sure didn't turn out the way I expected. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I always have some kinda problem with this one fellow. Did three jobs with him and on the last one a shed got flatened out. They expected me to drop a 4'dbh 15'high stem with all the cut debris piled against it. Well, you can probably imagine what happened. The stem did'nt want to lay on the 6'high pile so it went sideways. Feel as if I should've walked away until all of the debris was cleaned up. Never again.
