Back up camera

I put in a cheap backup camera off of Ebay on the chip truck. I should have done it a long time ago, sure is a breeze hooking up to the chipper now. It's been working good for a couple weeks now, we'll see how it holds up over time. So far it's the best purchase I've made this year!

If you don't mind me asking, how much does something life that go for? Also, how much time did it take you to install it? I usually get to the shop a little earlier than the rest of the crew and get everything hooked up and ready to go for the day. A camera would be really helpful for sure, just always thought it may be a little too costly for the amount of time it would actually save

I put a cheap one on a couple weeks ago also. I have to agree, "I should have done it sooner" Not always perfect but 100% better than no vision back there.

My theory on the grapple truck is looking down both sides of the truck (farther out from the mirror's perspective, one for the hitch, and one looking farther back.

On the Mek, one looking left and right of the centerline for backing into position, another looking back, and maybe one on the headboard.

I put one like this in. I bought it probably 6 months ago and paid $60 for it. They are $50 now. I used the wireless transmitters for ease of installation. I have my doubts on how long they will last but I guess time will tell. Install was super easy and probably took a relaxed two hours. I could have done it in well under an hour if I wanted to rush through it. All that is needed to do is to tap into power under the dash and at the rear.

I installed this Peak model to my pick up probably 2 years ago. It saves a ton of time positioning to hook up to the trailer or chipper. Paid $96 bucks at Walmart and couldn't be any happier with it. When I bought the chip truck last June, it went a whole week before I broke down and installed the same unit. The pick up is on the uplifter switches and the chip truck is in the backup lights/beeper. There are benefits to both setups but I do like the reverse wired a bit better! Worth every penny. But mount higher looking down more (45Degrees) it would be no where near as helpful mounted as low as the license plate.
