Back in the saddle again

Welp.....I thought I had hung my saddle up for good. It has been years since I climbed, but my hoarding nature paid off when a guy i know called me up for a favor.

So my first paying tree job in like....idk....3ish years is the removal of like a 100 year old white oak covering 3 properties (2 fence lines, 2 buildings, and a service drop).

Not planning on making a lot of money with this one. Just going to take it real slow and easy. Wish me godspeed, buzz board.

Also, years working on a drilling rig has me far bulkier than I used to be. Did a test climb in my backyard to get everything dialed in and have discovered that my bdb doesn't really work well for me anymore. I guess I'll be on a hitch hiker and the old trusty wrench for this one.

Gloves: check (pulled a dozen out of storage along with the rest of my gear)
Lanyard: might as well be new. Only used it a handful of times
Powder: check....lifesaver isn't it?
Water: always. Like I said, been doing the oilfield thing. It's not that I haven't been working hard, but it's the difference between power lifting and body building. I'm now 250ish and while I have a little padding, I'm not fat. Just meatier, if you can dig it.

Yeah I'll be up there a while. At least most of it won't have to be too fancy. Only 2 largish limbs that will have to be balance tied or 2 tied (probably 2 tie em. My balance eye may be off). Most of the rest will be cut and chuck or bombed. Lol he even told me I could destroy the smaller fence if I wanted to because it's coming out after the tree is gone regardless.

@JTree; Man, oh man, is it ever good to be reading you again on this forum! Welcome back, brother! I look forward to reading a lot more from you. Work safely, and have a blast if you can. Take care.

Tim

Have you maintained a business framework with liability insurance and workers comp?

X2 on the Gold Bond, especially in hot weather. Don't leave home without it if you want Junior and the Twins to enjoy the climb.
Clearly there must be something wrong with the sweat glands in my nether regions because my unusually tiny balls don't sweat in the least bit.
