I really don't want someone with less than $25/ hour on the ground.

Too unproductive, dangerous and expensive.

That being said,
$18-20/ hour is probably typical of an average ground worker wage, here, I'd guess. IDK.

Cost of living is higher here than many places. Seattle is WAY higher.

So there’ve been a couple of threads lately about low wages for arborists. Saw this ad for $30 an hour pressure washer technicians - maybe this can be used to ask the boss for a wage increase? Or change careers? I frankly think the ads for $18 an hour climbers are offensive, esp. when they ask for 3 yrs and an ISA ticket.
