ART spiderjack 4

I know there hasn’t been any talk of a new spiderjack coming out, but I was wondering what everyone would like to see in a new spiderjack. I’ve been pondering about things that could be better on the 3. I’d like to hear what everyone has to think.

ART makes some beautiful gear, but if they dont get with the SRT program soon they are gonna be left in the weeds.

I was pondering about having a 4th cam for 10-11mm rope and designing a srt setup for it... also adding a swivel to the upper attachment point. Maybe some different wood/ other materials for the brake to find the sweet spot for everyone’s rope and decent speed.

I believe that they want to but it’s hard for them because of Germany’s strict guidelines, I believe that they are not allowed to climb srt there... I may be wrong but that what I’ve been hearing. They really need to get on board and sell srt outside of Germany if they can’t sell it inside of Germany!!

You can climb SRT in Germany, but the devices have to be certified if you're doing it commercially. As far as I'm aware, besides the obvious descenders like the Rig, etc. the only thing allowed is the wrench, and now the chicane.

ART should jump all over that and get building some devices that will pass certification with no problem!

Just stick a wrench above it, but change the shape of the body of the wrench a little bit, like Petzl did. And also don't call it a wrench anymore after that.

The only ART product I have used it the spiderjack 2.1. I have also never used a rope wrench. I love my bulldog bone and hitchhiker. The sj 2.1 works great, but the fact that it is ddrt only and not midline attachable means it never leaves my bag. The sj 3 looks bulky. One of the things I like about the bdb and the hh2 is that they are compact, simple to oporate, and with either one, I can go from srt to ddrt and back with no adjustment at all. The bdb also has the advantage of having no pins or bars or anything else to drop or fumble with. ART has to make something that has all the benefits of the bdb plus some sort of other feature or improvement for me to be interested. A certification from ansi/ce would be good, but doesn't really effect me directly since I don't compete and I make the rules for my company.
